CCC/ 3C Certification
Can I bring my SnapWireless power bank through China? What about CCC certification?
We completely understand the concern around CCC (China Compulsory Certification) — especially for travellers transiting through or visiting China.
What is CCC Certification?
CCC is a safety standard required by Chinese law for products that are sold within China to local consumers. Since SnapWireless products are not sold or distributed within China, they are not required to carry CCC certification under Chinese regulations.
Can I still bring my power bank into China?
While the certification is not legally required for tourists, airport and train station security in China have recently become stricter with enforcement. There have been reports of non-CCC certified power banks being confiscated, even from international travellers.
This appears to be due to inconsistent enforcement at certain airports and checkpoints, and unfortunately, it’s something outside of our control.
If you’re travelling through China, we recommend:
Keeping your power bank in your carry-on luggage, not checked baggage
Ensuring the battery capacity is clearly labelled on the device (all SnapWireless power banks include this information on the product)
Being aware that confiscation is still possible, even if the power bank meets safety standards
Are you planning to release CCC-certified versions?
W’re currently exploring options to offer CCC-certified versions of our power banks for customers travelling through China. We’ll keep our community updated as soon as we have more to share.
